Seasons of Life and Landscape

Seasons of Life and Landscape explores Canada’s vast musical landscape and a variety of moods through music composed by established and emerging Canadian composers. The music evokes forces of nature across our four seasons as well as the lived human journey through the seasons of life.

This follow-up to the CCC’s Juno-nominated 2015 release features special guests Jeff Reilly (bass clarinet), Keith Hamm (viola), and Beverley Johnston (vibraphone) alongside collaborative pianist Laura Hawley.

Seasons of Life and Landscape was recorded May 17-19, 2019 at Maureen Forrester Recital Hall at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. It was released on October 25, 2019.

The Canadian Chamber Choir wishes to acknowledge a big extended family of supporters from coast to coast: countless donors, sponsors, homestay hosts, preparers of meals, venue volunteers, singers and conductors. Thank you for your belief in the work that we do, and the generosity with which you have supported this labour of love. This album would not have been possible without the generosity of over 300 individuals from Canada and beyond, who raised nearly $40,000 for its creation.

This project was funded in part by FACTOR, the Government of Canada and Canada’s private radio broadcasters.

We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts.
