We are thrilled to finally share this video with you.

“Unimagined Light” is the Canadian Chamber Choir’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Composed by Edward Enman and recorded live using Zoom videoconferencing software, a countdown clock and basic audio-visual equipment each singer already had on hand, it’s a collaboration in real time – and most definitely a sign of the times.

This performance, recorded on November 15, 2020, is the culmination of a composition competition hosted by the CCC that sought new works that could be performed by a physically-distanced SATB choir from anywhere in Canada.

The piece was recorded live from 20 different locations, combining various technological assists that allowed the CCC singers and artistic team to collaborate in real time over a pre-recorded electronic piano track supplied by the composer.
