Nova Scotia (25th Anniversary Tour) – August 5-16, 2025
In 2025, the Canadian Chamber Choir celebrated 25 years of powerful live performance and community-building through choral singing. In August 2025 we brought that celebration to Nova Scotia — the province where it all began, when our founding singers first came together as members of the National Youth Choir of Canada. (And yes — a few of us from that original ensemble were back on the risers for this tour!) Each setlist featured choral gems from throughout the Canadian Chamber Choir’s history.
The Canadian Chamber Choir was honoured to be joined on this tour by our dear friend and collaborator, Sherryl Sewepagaham — Cree-Dene musician, composer, and educator — with whom we released the album Where Waters Meet in 2024. At select concerts, we were also joined by local guest soloists who shared the stage with us during past visits to Nova Scotia, and on previous album releases — a beautiful reminder of the musical friends we’ve made along the way. A special reunion performance featuring additional CCC alumni took place at the August 13 concert in Wolfville.
While in Nova Scotia, the CCC were also the featured clinicians at the Nova Scotia Choral Federation’s Junior Choir Camp and Youth Choir Camp, which ran during the month of August.

The Canadian Chamber Choir returned to Calgary for the first time since 2007. Concerts took place in Okotoks (Feb. 24) and Calgary (Feb. 25). This project also included rehearsals and artistic incubation with composer Hussein Janmohamed, for the continued development of a new choral work, “Return.” Workshops took place with the Kantorei Choir and conducting students at Mount Royal University, Calgary Catholic School District (Bishop Carroll High School) Calgary Board of Education (CBE Sings program).

PODIUM 2010 – Saskatoon: CCC performed to huge sold-out crowd at the opening Highlight Concert of Podium 2010, Experience the Harmony: L’harmonie, une expérience a vivre, the Association of Canadian Choral Communities (ACCC) bi-annual national conference. Concert was recorded by CBC Radio and is available to hear online through CBC Choral Concert: Concerts on Demand. The CCC released its debut recording, In Good Company, to a very appreciative and educated choral crowd. Dr. Davids and the CCC also hosted masterclasses for four talented conductors throughout the week.

The Beginning – Pre-2001
The CCC was founded by a group of singers who participated in the National Youth Choir of Canada in 1998 and 1999 and loved the experience so much, they wanted to create a national professional choir. The Canadian Chamber Choir was formed in 2000 with the guidance of the late Iwan Edwards, and has been crisscrossing the country ever since, bringing together professional singers from coast to coast to coast.
