The CCC board is thrilled (and, frankly, quite relieved) to be able to announce that Andy Rice of Vancouver has become the choir’s new General Manager, taking over the ensemble’s administrative responsibilities from outgoing GM Corey Ticknor.

The Powell River-born musician, copywriter and arts administrator has enjoyed decades of involvement in the Canadian choral scene, volunteering and participating in every instalment of International Choral Kathaumixw from 1998 to 2016. Andy holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies (Piano) from Capilano University, where he spent three seasons performing and touring with NiteCap, in addition to serving as publisher of The Capilano Courier newspaper. He joins the CCC alongside his current role as Communications Coordinator for the British Columbia Choral Federation.

“Andy possesses a really diverse background of work experience that’s hard to find,” says CCC board chair Karla Ferguson. “A choir like ours really needs an administrator who can do it all – from grant writing to social media to tour logistics – and Andy definitely fits the bill.”

Andy slides into the manager’s chair as the CCC undertakes preparations for a tour to Chicago in October, and a tour of Saskatchewan in February 2018.
